LAKELAND - Joe Hutchinson, 62, a lifelong resident of Lakeland, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 17, 2012, following a battle with cancer.
Joe was born in Lakeland, attended Kathleen High School, and served for 2 years in the US Army.
Joe retired in 2010 after working as a truck driver for Aartman Trucking, and prior to that, driving for Florida Rock Industries. He was a member of American Legion Post 4 in Lakeland, a member of the NRA, and was an avid jet skier and 4 wheeler. Most of his time was spent with family having fun.
He is survived by his best friend, Linda Houston; 2 brothers, James and Jerry, both of Lakeland; a sister, Junenell Morhain of Woodstock, GA.; 4 nephews, Dennis, Randy, Tim and Jeff; a niece, Dorenda Fremgam and all of their children; and his adopted family James and Missy; and grandchildren Destiny, Faith and Colby. He was preceded in death by a brother Charles.
The visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Bethel Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in the Socrum Cemetery.
The family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
