LAKELAND - Mr. Clyde Smith, Jr., 87, passed away January 11, 2012 due to complications of asbestosis.
He was born May 4, 1924 in Jacksonville, Fl, to Clyde and May Smith. Mr. Smith served in the United States Navy during WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Armell Smith; daughters, Trisha Marvin, Wanda Hall, Melinda Childers and Melody Dickey; grandchildren, Shannon, Teresa, Tracy, Tammy, Heather, Jason, David, Jennifer, Gwen and Patrick; great grandchildren, Sean, Chase, Emma, Hannah, Brody, Carson, James, Brittany, Devin, Levi, Mason, Owen, Benjamin and Sara; and a great-great grandson Eli. Mr. Smith was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Lucas.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be today (Friday) at 1:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
