Janie L. Gatlin

JANIE L. GATLIN, 81

POLK CITY - Janie L. Gatlin, 81, passed away Thursday September 15, 2011 from respiratory failure.

She was born in Kingston, GA and moved to this area from Adairsville, GA in 1957.

Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph and daughters, Sue and Barbara Jean Gatlin. She is survived by daughters, Louise Childress of Bean Station, TN, Carolyn (Gerald) West of Lakeland, Charlotte (Mike) Smith of Rutledge, TN, son, Ralph Gatlin, Jr., of Polk City; her sister Mae, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Services will take place Saturday at Bartons Funeral Home in Adairsville, GA.

Stanley Lindholm

 

STANLEY LINDHOLM, 84

LAKELAND - Mr. Stanley Lindholm, 84, went to be with his Lord on Sept. 14, 2011 as the result of complications from dementia.

Stan was born in Minneapolis, MN on Dec. 9, 1926, and lived most of his life in Duluth. He moved to Lakeland from Duluth in 2008 to be with his family.

Stan graduated from Duluth Central High School and Minnehaha Academy in the Twin Cities. During this time he finished his apprenticeship at a cabinet making shop in Minneapolis, and also worked at a cabinet maker in Duluth. Later he went to work for Minnesota Grain as an inspector, from which he retired following a severe injury resulting in disability. Further schooling then led him to a degree in architecture, and then to Moody Bible Institute and Ministry. During this time he was superintendent of the Union Gospel Mission in Duluth.

Stan married his wife Sylvia on Sept. 1, 1950. She preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 2004. His parents, David and Jenny Lillian Lindholm, and his brother, Reuben, preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, Dr. Dale Lindholm of Clarks Summit, PA; sister, Carol Heideman of Lakeland, FL; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted today at 11 a.m. at Highland Park Church of the Nazarene Chapel. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth.

Nicolas Fasanella

 

NICOLAS FASANELLA, 19

LAKELAND - Nicolas Fasanella, 19, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in an auto-mobile accident, Tuesday, September 13, 2011.

Born December 6, 1991 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Nicolas moved to Lakeland in 2004. He was a sophomore attending Santa Fe College.

He is survived by his father: Lorenzo and step-mother, Laurie Anne Fasanella; mother: Catherine and step-father, Robert Cutrer; brother: Michael Haley; step-brothers: Robbie and Chase Cutrer and step-sisters: Savannah Cox and Kristin Cutrer.

A visitation, for Nicolas, will be conducted Friday, September 16, 2011 from 6-9pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Dukes-Steen Chapel at 1833 S. Florida Avenue in Lakeland. The funeral service will also be conducted at the Duke-Steen Chapel on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 10am, with Pastor Stephen Patrick officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.

For friends and family that prefer to make a donation in Nicolas' honor, instead of sending flowers, the family requests that those donations be made to Good Shepherd Hospice at 105 Arneson Avenue in Auburndale.

Albert J. Pinette

ALBERT J. PINETTE

Lakeland, FL & Portage Lake, ME

Albert J. Pinette - 65, passed away September 11, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center after a long illness. 

He was born in Portage Lake on April 18, 1946, the son of Edmond (Buster) & Florence Pinette. Albert served in the U.S. Army for a time. He worked for Smithbilt of Florida for 27 years. He would return to Portage where he loved to fish, hunt and visit family.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie, of 31 years and their son Joey Pinette and 2 grandchildren, Kelsey & Konner, who meant the world to him all from Lakeland, FL. He is also survived by four brothers, Reginald, his wife Rachel of Portage Lake, ME, Leonard (Snuffy), his wife Joyce of Washburn, ME, Clarence (Whitey), his wife Dorothy of Wallingford, Conn, and Larry, his wife Betty of Meriden, Conn. Two sisters, Arlene Daigle of Winterville, ME, and Irene, her husband Lorne Boyles Sr., of Portage Lake, ME., several nieces and nephews. One very very special niece, Tammy O’Clair who was with him when he passed. He was predeceased by his parents and a son Eric.

There will be a small service by his parent’s gravesite at the Portage Cemetery on Saturday September 17, 2011 at 2 p.m.

Dale Fisk

DALE FISK, 86

LAKELAND - Ephraim "Dale" Fisk, 86, of Lakeland, passed away Mon., Sept. 12, 2011 due to heart failure.

Dale had been a Lakeland resident since moving here in the early 1990s from Auburn Hills, Mich.
Dale retired in 1978 from General Motors where he worked for 32 years as a locksmith. He also retired from the City Council of Auburn Hills where he served as a councilman for 21 years. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps, serving during WWII. He was a past president of the Lakeland Harbor Homeowners association, and was an active volunteer for many years in ICU at Lakeland Reg. Hospital.

He is survived by his wife Annie; his children Steve Fisk of Lakeland, Jayne Rollison and husband Dan of Fenton, MI, Kathy French and husband Don of Auburn Hills, MI, and Daniel Butow and wife Betty of Panama City, FL; his 6 grandchildren Kory Rollison and wife Christina, Krista Lynn Mauck and husband Eric, Kary Hodge, Kolleen Miller, Dana Aubuchon and husband Charles, and Stephanie Sikes and husband Pat; and his 6 great grandchildren Trevor, Anna, Alex, Parker, Kassidy, and Justin.

Interment services will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Battle Creek, Mich. A memorial service will be held in Lakeland at the Community Room at Lakeland Harbor at a later date.

Ronald Dean Wolf

RONALD DEAN WOLF, 79

LAKELAND - Mr. Ronald D. Wolf passed away on Thursday Sept. 8, 2011 from renal failure.

He was born in Detroit, MI and moved to this area from Three Rivers, MI in 1967. Ronald worked as a teacher in the Polk County School System for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church at The Mall. Ronald was a U.S. Air Force veteran during the Korean Conflict, a life member of F.&A.M. Lodge in Three Rivers, MI, member of the D.A.V. Lakeland Chapter and graduated from Western Michigan University.

He is survived by his wife, Merle Wolf of Lakeland, brothers, Roger L. Wolf, Sr. of Three Rivers, MI and Donald G. Wolf of Portage, MI.

Visitation will be Sat. 9-17-11 from 10:00 - 11:00am at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or the Shriners Children's Hospital.

LAKELAND - David Reynolds died 9/9/2011 due to complications of a stroke.
