EVELYN BARDEN, 79

LAKELAND - Mrs. M. Evelyn Barden, 79, passed away Tuesday July 1, 2008 at her home due to complications of cancer.
She was born in Nashville, Georgia on July 24, 1928. Mrs. Barden was a member of the Griffin Baptist Church in Kathleen, and a former member of Lakeland Acres Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jack Barden in 2005. Her survivors include daughters, Patsy Yawn and Jackie Furlong; a son, Michael Barden, Sr.; three sisters, Dorothy Godwin, Ruth Godwin and Nell Hartley; ten grandchildren, Becky Brown, Bobby Gray, Stephanie Mendoza, Melanie Weitman, Carrie Currie, Jennifer Dohm, Michael Barden, Jr., Lisa Rossi, Amy Golfin and Josh Feaster; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was best known for her unwavering faith in God, her love for her Lord and Savior and her Family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The visitation will be Saturday July 5, at the Griffin Baptist Church from 9 30 to 10 30 A.M. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 10 30, the Rev. Todd Pope and Rev. Matthew Gilmore will be officiating.
Burial will take place in Quitman, Georgia on Sunday.
