Trainman

LAKELAND - Leon F. Keen, 79, died May 4, 2008 at his home due to cancer.

Mr. Keen was a lifelong resident of Lakeland and worked as a trainman for CSX Railroad. He was a member of First Baptist Church at the Mall where he was a member of the choir and the Willing Workers Sunday school class. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and football.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Mildred Wright and Eloise Ashton and is survived by his wife Mary Ann Keen, daughter Lisa Dr. Geoffrey Gardner, brothers Billy Geri Keen, Jackie Keen, sister Sandra K. Ripp Saunders, grandchildren Jameson Theresa Gardner, Ashley Gardner and great granddaughter Sarah Gardner.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 at First Baptist Church at the Mall chapel. Funeral service will be Wed. at 11 am at the First Baptist Church at the Mall chapel.
