LAKELAND - Mr. Patrick Joseph Tiberio Sr., of Lakeland died Wednesday Sept. 26, 2007 at his home in Lakeland due to complications of cancer.

Mr. Tiberio was an industrial engineer for Raybestos Manhattan for 35 years. He moved to Lakeland from California in 1989. He served in the Army during WWII receiving 7 battle stars and the Croix D Guarre. He was an avid sports fan and loved baseball, softball and duckpin bowling. Pat was a member of the St. Anthony's Parrish in Lakeland.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Theresa "Terri" Tiberio; two sons, Patrick Tiberio, Jr. and Glenn Tiberio; a daughter, Kathleen Mandeville; two sisters, Vera Violante and Emily DelRe; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Anthony's Catholic Church or Good Shepherd Hospice.
The visitation will be today (Friday)from 6-8 pm at the Gentry-Morrison Northside Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be Saturday Sept. 29, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial with military Honors will be Monday at the Florida National Cemetery.

MULBERRY - James W. "Buddy" Gessford Jr., 93, died Saturday, September
15, 2007 at his son's home, of complications from Parkinson's disease.

Born January 30, 1914 in Washington D.C. Buddy was a graduate of Gonzaga College High School, Washington D.C. and was a Naval submarine veteran of WWII in Pearl Harbor. He moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1946. Buddy was a construction manager of residential and commercial projects throughout Florida. In 1990 moved to Mulberry, Florida.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years Grace K. Gessford, his sister Catherine Langford of St. Petersburg, Florida.  His survivors include his son Gary Gessford of Mulberry, Florida, sisters Mildred Beuchert of Largo, Florida and Rita Risler of Largo, Florida.

Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday 23 of September at the home of Gary Gessford, 3655 Emerald Lane, Mulberry, FL. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, Fl, 33823.

ORLANDO - Ms. Susan Prescott Bender passed away Sept. 16, 2007 of heart failure at the age 54.

Ms. Bender was born in Orlando on Feb. 17, 1953. She was a graduate of Lakeland High School, and resided in the Polk County area most of her life. 

Ms. Bender is survived by her daughter, Heather McGuirt Hawkins of Madison, NC; son, Mark Gates of Florida; brothers, Danny Prescott Radney of Winter Haven, FL and Mike Prescott Radney of Alabama; grandchildren, Lauren, Kelsey and Cole.

Memorial services will be conducted Fri. at 4 p.m. at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd., Lakeland.

LAKELAND - Gene O. Gudmandsen, 75, of Lakeland, Fl. passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to heart failure.
Gene was born in Scandinavia, WI. He was the son of the late Otto and Evelyn (Nottleson) Gudmandsen. Gene moved to the Lakeland area in 1978 coming from New York. He served in the United States Army as a first Lieutenant. Gene was a civil engineer working for Exxon Mobil for forty years. In his leisure time Gene enjoyed fishing, music and working on cars and motorcycles.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Joan (Smith) Gudmandsen; his daughters, Karen Maclaren (Jeffrey) of Delray Beach, FL, Suellen Blackford (Jim) of Lakeland, Fl., Kristin LaMonte of Lakeland, Fl; his sisters, Joan Taylor of Virginia Beach, VA, Janice Lewandowski (Al) of Kenosha, WI; his grandchildren, James Blackford, III, Nicole LaMonte, Owen Ryan and Emily Maclaren. Gene is preceded in death by his daughter, Gail Ryan.

Gene's family will receive relatives and friends for an evening visitation on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Gentry-Morrison Dukes-Steen Chapel, 1833 S. Florida Ave. Lakeland, Fl 33803.
