Mechanic
LAKELAND - Mr. Barry Wayne Davis, Sr. passed away Saturday August 25, 2007 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland due to cancer.
He was born May 23, 1942 in Richmond, VA to George Washington Davis & Katherine (Russell) Davis. Barry moved to Lakeland, Florida from Richmond, Virginia in 1968. He was a Master Guitarist and enjoyed playing music.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Davis of Lakeland, Fl; son, Barry W. Davis, Jr. of Land O'Lakes, Fl; two daughters, Natalie Iannone of Polk City, Fl and Janet Shannon of Colorado; a sister, Delores Graham of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Daniel Davis, Johnathan Iannone, Cody Shannon and Phillip Davis.
A private service will be held by the family on Wednesday.

LAKELAND- Mr. David Darryl Simpson, 46, passed away from a courageous battle with cancer Sat, Aug. 25, 2007 at his home.
Born June 2, 1961 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he grew up in and attended school in Lewiston, N.Y. David spent six years in the U.S. Navy as a communications specialist, and worked for companies such as Danfos in Racine, WI, and Trucklite in Jamestown, N.Y. He was a very intelligent, witty, and generous man who was always there for others. He was a Jehovah's Witness.
Mr. Simpson leaves behind a loving family that includes his parents, Karen and Jim Skelton of Lakeland, and Nell and Bill Simpson of Jamestown, N.Y.; a beloved uncle, Richard Simpson, also of Jamestown, N.Y.; a sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Randy Pack of Lakeland, and nieces Caitlin, Emily and Sarah Pack. He also leaves behind his Devoted pets, "Junior", "Precious","Cookie", and "Virgil" who brought him great joy and comfort. And also his special nurse from Hospice, Carrie.
There will be a private family burial and he will be interred at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, Fl 33823.
We love you and miss you David, and thank our Lord for His abundant love and mercy.

LAKELAND - Mr. Harold Leonard Osban, Sr., died Sun. 8/26/07 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, FL due to cancer.
He was born 1/12/1919 in Titusville, FL and has resided in Lakeland for 60 years. Mr. Osban was a retired dairyman who owned and operated Osban Dairy in Medulla for many years. He later relocated to Springhead. He served in the 351st Squadron of the 100th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Caroline Hartman Osban. He is survived by two sons, Harold L. Osban, Jr. (and Patricia) of Bradenton, Alan K. Osban (and Denise) of Auburndale, one daughter, Linda Osban Tyler (and Jerry) of Brewton, AL, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tue. (today) 10 - 11am at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Graveside services will follow at 11:30am at Oak Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.

LAKELAND - Mr. Gordon Scott Hollywood passed away Sat. 8/25/07 due to respiratory failure.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Lakeland from Elk Grove Village, IL in 1991. Mr. Hollywood was a public relations director for 39 years with Wilson Sporting Goods in Chicago. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, an avid New York Mets fan and golfer at Cypress Lakes.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Theresa Gladys Hollywood of Lakeland, son, Gordon (Terry Ann) Hollywood, Jr. of Davenport, FL, daughter, Judith (Kurt) Jeske of Elmhurst, IL, grandchildren, Michele (Jason) Pisarik, Gordon Robert Hollywood, Lee Jeske and Max Jeske.
Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery.

LAKELAND - Mr. Earl J. Cavanaugh, 86, passed away Aug. 26, 2007.
Mr. Cavanaugh was born in Pittsburgh, PA on Aug. 26, 1921. He received Engineering Degree from Carnegie institute of Technology, and a Doctor of Laws Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1952. He served during World War 11 In the United States Navy, where he was a Lieutenant in the South Pacific and North Pacific Theatres. In his law practice, Mr. Cavanaugh was a civil trial lawyer, and was a partner in the law firm of Evans, Ivory and Evans in Pittsburgh. In recent years he and his wife were residents of Lakeland.
He is survived by his wife, Doris S. Cavanaugh, and his sister, Mrs. Joan Hursen of Carlisle, PA.

LAKELAND - Lucas Emmett Nettles, son of John R. and Gwen Dickey Nettles of Lakeland, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007 in Lakeland.
In addition to his parents, he is also survived by Grandparents John L. and Jane P.
Nettles, Virginia, David P. Sr., and Melody S. Dickey, Lakeland; Great Grandparents: Jessie Powell, West Va., Lawrence and Jean Nettles, West Va.; Mrs. Roscoe T. (Genelle) Dickey, Lakeland; Clyde and Armell Smith, Lakeland; Aunts, Katherine Nettles, New Hampshire and Mrs. Jennifer (James) Stovall, Lakeland; Uncle, David P. (Helen) Dickey, Jr., Lakeland.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7 p.m. Friday at Church of Christ, Lake Gibson, 4601 Socrum Loop Rd. N., Lakeland. Memorial Services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church.
