LAKELAND - Arlene Frances O'Keefe Tysver, 66 of Lakeland died December 6, 2006 at her home of complications due to breast cancer.
She was born August 6, 1940 in Bronx, NY to Michael Francis and Anna (Baranski) O'Keefe. She is a graduate of Staten Island Community College where she received her degree in Medical Assistant Technology. Arlene moved here in 1977 and was employed with the Mulberry Post Office as a rural carrier for seven years. She was a devoted mother and homemaker and foster parent. Arlene was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and it's choir. She was past-president of Church Women United of Lakeland and past-president of Resurrection Council of Catholic Women. Arlene also toured and sang professionally with her daughter's theatrical & musical production company.
She was united in marriage on June 9, 1962 in Staten Island to Gerald Tysver who survives. Arlene is also survived by her mother, Anna O'Keefe of Saratoga Springs, NY; sons, Jay of Florence, AL, John of Walkerton, IN, Dan of Lakeland and Robert of Atlanta; her daughters, Maura Solomita of Mulberry, Cheri Tysver and Tina Ringler both of Lakeland, Connie Queen of Cullowhee, NC, Heather Lanham of Denver and Rebecca Vega of High Springs, FL; brothers, Michael O'Keefe of Saratoga Springs, NY and Tommy O'Keefe of Staten Island, NY; sisters, Kathy Conroy of Clifton Park, NY and Patty Disbrow of Saratoga Springs, NY; six grandchildren, Anderson, Christian, Chase, Jonathan, Ariel and Nicholas also survive.
Friends will be received Friday from 6:30-8:30pm at the funeral home where a Christian Wake Service will be held that evening at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said 11:00am Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. John Caulfield celebrating. Interment will be held in Oak Hill Burial Park.
