LAKELAND -- Ms. Eleanor S. Queizer of Lakeland died of lung failure Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2006) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 60.

Born in Chicago on Oct. 24, 1945, she came to Lakeland from Fort Lauderdale in 1969. She was a manager of a convenience store.

Ms. Queizer is survived by her mother, Eleanor M. Queizer, Lakeland; brother, Robert D. Queizer, Lakeland.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday (September 30, 2006) at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens. Services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Edelberto Hilario Rodriquez Peraza of Lakeland died of heart failure Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2006) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 86.

Born in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, on Jan. 14, 1920, he came to Lakeland from Cuba in 2004. He was an industrial mechanic in Cuba.

Mr. Peraza is survived by his wife, Ernestina; sons, Geraldo, Edelberto, and Noel Rodriquez, both of Cuba; daughters, Maritza, and Marleny Rodriquez, both of Lakeland, Bertha Rose Rodriquez, Cuba; brother, Alfonzo Rodriquez, Los Angeles; sisters, Esperanza Rodriquez, Miami Beach, Ana Delia Rodriquez, Cuba; four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening (September 29, 2006) at Gentry-Morrison Dukes Steen Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday (September 30, 2006) at Oak Hill Burial Park.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Homer Curtis "Randy" Randle of Lakeland died of heart failure Tuesday (Sept. 26, 2006) at Lakeland Hills Center. He was 76.

He was born in Red Dragon, W.Va., on Aug. 9, 1930. He retired from the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He played semi-professional baseball for the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland. He also was in the gaming business in Las Vegas for many years.

Mr. Randle is survived by his son, Chad Randle, Las Vegas; sister, Gloria Mershon, Lakeland; brother, Earl Randle, Lakeland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Leo Barker

Barker LEO BARKER, 89

LAKELAND -- Mr. Leo G. Barker of Lakeland died of liver cancer Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2006) at home. He was 89.

Born in Norman Park, Ga., on May 26, 1917, he came to Lakeland from Avon Park in 1949. He worked for Publix as a data processor in the payroll department for 23 years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church where he was a deacon, usher, treasurer and served on many committees with the church.

Mr. Barker was preceded in death by his wife, Codane Barker. He is survived by his brothers, Sam H. Barker, Nashville, Ga., Paul L. Baker, Ellenwood, Ga.; sister, Laura B. McCorkel, Moultrie, Ga.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (September 29, 2006) at Gentry-Morrison Southside Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (September 30, 2006) at Parkview Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, or Parkview Baptist Church.

Born in Ocala on Sept. 15, 1947, he came to Lakeland from Tampa 50 years ago. He was a lawyer.

Mr. Shelnut is survived by his wife, Lucretia Shelnut; sons, Steve Shelnut, Atlanta, Johnathan Shelnut, Grant Shelnut, both of Lakeland; daughter, Katie Shelnut, Tampa; mother, Marjorie Robinson, Lakeland; five grandchildren.

Born June 4, 1956, in Washington, Pa., Mr. Coughenour moved to Lakeland from Jacksonville in 1972. He worked as a painter in the construction industry.

Mr. Coughenour is survived by his mother, Dorothy Coughenour, Lakeland; brother, Frank Coughenour, Lakeland; sister, Brenda Coughenour, Shell Knob, Mo.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Henry Morris Rowsey of Lakeland died of heart failure Friday (Sept. 22, 2006) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 79.

Born Jan. 12, 1927, in Belle, W.Va., Mr. Rowsey moved to Lakeland from there in 1987. He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as an equipment operator for E.I. DuPont Chemical Co., West Virginia. He attended Masonic Lodge, Malden, W.Va.

Mr. Rowsey is survived by his wife, Delva J. Rowsey; daughters, Kay Johnston, Charleston, W.Va., Karen McMillion, Huron, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday (September 25, 2006) at Florida National Cemetery.

LAKELAND -- Mr. Walter B. McKinney Jr. of Lakeland died of heart failure Thursday (Sept. 21, 2006) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 58.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, on March 19, 1948, he came to Lakeland from there 11 years ago. He was a retired buyer and planner for ABB Industries in Columbus. Most recently, he worked for Reedy Creek Improvement District at Lake Buena Vista. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having received the Bronze Star.

Mr. McKinney is survived by his wife, Deborah M. McKinney; sons, Chad McKinney and Jeremy McKinney, both of Kissimmee; brothers, Bruce McKinney, Robert McKinney and Michael McKinney, all of Columbus; sisters, Mary Marshall, Sandra McCall and Linda Yinger, all of Columbus; three grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday (September 25, 2006) at Gentry-Morrison Northside Chapel, 5245 U.S. 98 N., Lakeland.

TAMPA - Mrs. Viola Lillian Bradt of Tampa, formerly of Lakeland, died of complications from Alzheimer's disease Thursday (Sept. 21, 2006) at Bon Secours Maria Manor in St. Petersburg. She was 87.

Born in Binghamton, N.Y., on April 16, 1919, she lived in Lakeland before moving to Tampa. She was a cafeteria worker for the Polk County School Board. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Lakeland.

Mrs. Bradt is survived by her sons,  Darryll R. Bradt, Clermont, Dennis E. Bradt, Tampa, Marcus A. Bradt, Sarasota; daughter, Diana S. King, Clermont; sister, Janice Rauch, Johnson City, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm Sunday (Sept. 24, 2006) at Gentry-Morrison Dukes Steen Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

LAKELAND -- Mr. John "Jack" Francis Patton of Lakeland died of complications following a stroke Tuesday (Sept. 19, 2006) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 76.

Born in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 20, 1929, he came to Lakeland from Merritt Island in 1993. He was an accountant for the CIA for 32 years. He was a member of the Colesville, Md., Lions Club. He was a baseball commissioner for the Gaithersburg Sports Association. He was a charter member of Mill Creek Parish United Methodist Church and a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Patton is survived by his wife, Wilma Patton; daughter, Susan Moreno, Pleasonton, Calif.; sons, Michael Patton, Gaithersburg, Md., David Patton, Snellville, Ga.; sisters, Janice Murphy, Newton, Pa., Patricia Miller, Damascus, Md., Joan Martin, Naples; seven grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday (September 23, 2006) at Colonnades Club House, 4800 Colonnades Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33811.
