LAKELAND - Clara "Claire" Louise Harl, 97, passed away on April 26, 2008 at Carpenter's Home Manor due to complications from respiratory failure.

Mrs. Harl was born October 17, 1910 in Trappe, PA to James Edwin and Clara Martha (Cattell) Rochee. Claire moved to Lakeland in October of 1991 from Stroudsburg, PA. She and her husband owned the Jonaire's Doll Hospital in Stroudsburg, PA. She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church in E. Stroudsburg, PA. She also attended Sunday services at Carpenter's Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Harl. She is survived by her three daughters, Jo Martin of Atlantic Beach, Fl, C. Louise Rochee of California, and Susanna Roessner of North Carolina; Six Grandchildren; Ten Great-Grandchildren; One Great-Great Grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held at The Estate's at Carpenters on Thursday May 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dan Harvey and Missionary John Roessner officiating.

Visitaion will be Thursday at the Highland Park Nazarene Church, 4777 Lakeland Highlands Rd. from 9-11 00am with services to follow at 11 00am Internment will be at Serenity Gardens, Lakeland.

LAKELAND - Fred White, 77, passed away May 10, 2008 of heart failure.

Mr. White was born in Russell, KY on January 30, 1931. He moved to Lakeland 41 years ago from Boston, MA. He was a retired CPO with the U.S. Navy. Mr. White was a member of the Fleet Reserve. His hobbies included being a private pilot, and great cook.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his son, William Blake White. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice Faye White; sons, George (Glenda) White, Phil (Teresa) White, and Robert (Tina) White, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted Thurs. 10 am at Gentry-Morrison Dukes Steen Chapel, 1833 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1040 Woodcock Rd. Suite 119, Orlando, FL 32803.

Russell "Russ" Oxford

RUSSELL "RUSS" OXFORD, 69

KATHLEEN - Russell (Russ) Oxford, 69, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at his home in Kathleen due to complications of cancer.

Russ was born in Winter Haven on March 19, 1939 and a lifelong resident of Polk County. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam Era; he retired after 27 years of service to his country. He also worked for the last approximately 20 years at the Orange Bowl Lanes/Socia enterprises.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Riley & Katherine Elizabeth Oxford; and his wife, Louella Oxford. Russ is survived by his daughter, Michelle and her husband Joseph Rogers of Moyock, N.C.; two brothers, James Earl Oxford and Richard T. Oxford both of Lakeland, FL; a sister, Jayne O. Sarkany of Kathleen, FL; and two grandchildren, Jared & Justin Rogers.

A visitation will be tonight (Monday) from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home-Northside Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Burial with military honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery at 2:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for a memorial bench to be placed in Florida National Cemetery in his honor.

HELEN L. NOLET, 87

LAKELAND - Helen Lois Nolet, 87, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at Oakbridge Healthcare Center due to complications of a stroke.

She was born January 2, 1921 in Easton, PA and moved here in 1989 from Charleston, W. VA. Helen retired from the State of W. Virginia as an office manager with the Army National Guard and was a member of the Moose and Elks Lodges in Lakeland. She attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Charleston and Resurrection Catholic Church, Lakeland.

She was united in marriage in 1954 to her husband, Ernest E. Nolet who resides in Lakeland. Helen is also survived by her son, James and his wife, Debra Nolet of Bixby, OK and her three grandsons. Memorial services will be held 4:00 pm Tuesday at the Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes, Dukes-Steen Chapel, Lakeland with Fr. Matthew Mello officiating. Interment will take place privately in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to either Good Shepherd Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
