Emmett L. Prine

EMMETT  L. PRINE, 80
Truck Driver

LAKELAND - Emmett L. Prine, 80, of Lakeland, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 due to heart failure.
Mr. Prine was born in Springhead, Fl and lived in the cork area of Plant City for most of his life. He retired from truck driving in 1993, and moved to Michigan until 2004 when he moved back to Lakeland.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hazel; 2 sons, Gerald and wife, Beckie, Harold and wife, Jean; 2 daughters, Rita Henderson and husband, Ken, and Gloria Cowden and husband, Danny; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, Beacon Hill Chapel, 1833 S. Florida Ave., with burial to follow in Elim Cemetery. Friends are invited to the visitation beginning at 2:00 pm.
The family has requested that flowers be sent to Gentry-Morrison, Beacon Hill.

Paul A. Washburn

PAUL A. WASHBURN, 80
Polk Co. School Board

LAKELAND - Paul A. Washburn, 80, passed away as the result of heart failure May 31, 2012.
Mr. Washburn was born in East Detroit, MI on May 1, 1932. He moved to Lakeland over 50 years ago from Cheboygan, MI. He served in the National Guard, Air Force and Naval Reserves. Following his military service, he was a self-employed contractor before going to work for the Polk County School Board as a Construction Foreman. He attended Kathleen United Methodist Church and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Washburn was a craftsman that enjoyed working with wood and leather. He also was an avid horseman.
Mr. Washburn is survived by his wife of 56 years, Orva Washburn; son, Kenneth (Susan) Washburn; daughters, Pauline (Steve) Essary and Leona (Robert) Hills-grove; brother, Jerry (Joanne) Washburn; grandchildren Eric, Matthew, Donald, Melissa, Trevor and Hannah; great grandchildren Colton, Payton and Luke. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Wash-burn.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.

Guillermo "William" Pazos, Jr.

GUILLERMO "WILLIAM" ARTURO  PAZOS, Jr., 56

LAKELAND - Mr. Guillermo "William" Arturo Pazos, Jr., 56, passed away May 31, 2012 from complications of pneumonia.
William was born in Cuba on Feb. 11, 1956 and moved to the Lakeland area from Cuba in 1970. He was a graduate of Lakeland High School and was later self employed in the fabrication industry. William enjoyed fishing, boating and time at the beach. He was the loving caregiver to his parents, Guillermo Pazos, Sr. and Maria Rosa Pazos.
William was the beloved son of Guillermo and Maria; the best brother to his sisters, Rosa (Domenico) Cingari, Carmen (Phillip) Cummings and Diana (Mark) Brown; the loving uncle of, Nick (Jackie), Emily, Angel, Jordan and Bailey; nephew of, Florencia Gonzalez and Silvio Puentes; cousins, Ana Manning, Mari Parsons, Daisey, Silvio and Concepcion.
A memorial service will be conducted today, Sunday, June 3rd at 2 pm at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd., Lakeland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.

MARY ELLEN REPLOGLE ORR, 84
Sales Clerk

LAKELAND - Mary Ellen Replogle Orr, 84, passed away due to natural causes on Thursday, May 31, 2012.

Mary was born on March 15, 1928 to John and Anna Replogle in Jackson, TN. She moved to Lakeland in 1955. She last worked as a sales clerk.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Orr and youngest son, Richard C. Orr. Mary is survived by daughter, D. Jean Orr Skinner and husband Fred; son, Bobby Orr and wife Rose; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Beth Marie McClure

 

 

BETH MARIE McCLURE, 72
Educator - Librarian

LAKELAND - Beth Marie McClure, 72, of Lakeland, Florida, entered heaven's gates on May 22, 2012. She died suddenly from cardiac arrest.

Beth McClure was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and spent her career as an educator and librarian. In 2007, after 36 years of service, she retired from teaching on Guam. She was a member of Highland Park Church of the Nazarene, a tutor for Lighthouse Ministries, and a volunteer for SHINE, a health insurance assistance program for seniors.

She is survived by two cousins, William and Delano Wilson, and close friends: Charlotte Hepler, Nancy Buell, Mary Roth, BJ Mikel, Helen Klein, Jenny Steel, Sandy Wahl, Sheryl Nixt, Katherine Maraman, Janice Milligan, Jacki Strandhagen, Jean Tanaguichi, Jennifer and Craig Zobelein, Pam and Ray Walchle and many friends at Cypress Lakes, Highland Park Church, and throughout the states and Guam.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 5245 US 98 North, Lakeland. Friends are invited to arrive at 1:00 pm.

LAKELAND - Sophie G. Kosier passed Wednesday, 5/30/12 of natural causes.

Visitation will be held on Friday (today) from 6 - 8 pm at Gentry Morrison Northside. Service Saturday at 11am at the funeral home.

Vera Helen Eisold

VERA HELEN EISOLD, 96

LAKELAND - Vera H. Eisold of Lakeland, Florida, died of natural causes May 28, 2012 at the age of 96.

Vera was born on February 1, 1916 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to William and Elsie (Kolberg) Truttschel. On August 14, 1936 she married Theodore E. Eisold, her lifelong friend from church and school. They later moved to Milwaukee.

Vera was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lakeland. She also volunteered at the Hope Center. She was an excellent cook and often brought food to church functions and friends. She was known for her sharp mind, even at the end of her life. Vera was always a dedicated Christian and rests in the arms of our blessed Lord.

Vera's husband, Ted, died June 2, 1997. She is survived by four children: Theodore (Elsie) Eisold of Palatine, IL, Mary Beth Simmelink of New Bern, NC, Kathleen (James) DeMunck of Borrego Springs, CA, and Mark Eisold of Milwaukee, WI; as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Rev. Mark Eisold (Sandi) of Lima Peru, Joan Hetzel (Rev. Brian) of Blue Springs, MO, Nancy Freres (Sean) of Hoffman Estates, IL, Julie Rowe of New Bern, NC, Laura Simmelink of Asheville, NC, Jeff Simmelink of New Bern, NC, Angela DeMunck of Engelwood, CO, Matthew Eisold of Milwaukee, WI, and Jamie Eisold of Burlington, WI. Vera is also survived by her older sister, Isabel Lienau, 100, of Madison, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lakeland on Saturday, July 21st, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery, Sheboygan, Wisconsin at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Hospice, both of Lakeland.

George D. Donohue

 

 

GEORGE D. DONOHUE, 82
Polk Co. School Board

LAKELAND - Mr. George D. Donohue passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 due to heart failure.

He was born on March 3, 1930 in Wilmington, DE and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. George was retired from Bayer Co. (formerly Hercules, Inc.) and the Polk County School Board.

He is survived by his children, Michael T. (Teri) Donohue of Orange Park, FL, Kimberly D. (Richard) Lyons of Lakeland, FL, Kathleen M. Donohue of Sarasota, FL, Anne M. Vondrak of Nashotah, WI, grandchildren, David (Grace), Mark and Jillian Donohue, Amanda Krae-mer, Jacqueline, Nicholas and Alexis Vondrak, wife, Deloris Donohue of Lakeland, FL, and her children, Ann (John) Cullipher, Jimmy (Pati) Roach, Randy (Mary) Smith and grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 2:00pm at Church of the Resurrection where George was an active member. A private interment service will take place at Oak Hill Burial Park where he will be buried next to his wife and mother of his children, Joanne T. Donohue.

LAKELAND - Steven Wayne Deitemeyer, 41, passed away from heart failure May 29, 2012.

Steve was born on April 20, 1971 in Lakeland, and remained a lifelong resident. He was a longtime employee of Reececliff Restaurant and was always known by family and friends as a helping hand. His hobbies included fishing and following NASCAR.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Jones and Muriel Deitemeyer. He is survived by his sister, Beth (Jeff) Sidor; grandmother, Mary Shoemake; uncles, Gary (Jan) Smith and Aubrey (Melanie) Shoemake; cousins, Rand and Gordon Smith; nieces, Katie and Emily Sidor.

A memorial gathering will take place today, Friday, June 1st from 6-8 p.m. at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd., Lakeland, FL.
